Hoani MacDonald (born 21 August 1978) is a New Zealand rugby union player who played provincial rugby for Southland, and as well as the Highlanders in the Super 14.
In September 2008, he joined Welsh regional side the Newport Gwent Dragons in the Magners League.[1]
It was announced in April 2010 that MacDonald had signed to the Melbourne Rebels rugby union team for the season commencing early 2011.[2] Although MacDonald has played lock in both league and union, Rebels' management also acknowledges his potential to play No. 6 (blindside flanker).[3]
